Is a Good Business Study Business Administration?
When I was young, I remember that I always wanted to be the boss. While I was playing with my friends in elementary school, I used to give ideas for everything. I decided what to play and I always gave new ways to do it better. I was always participated in games, dances, and any activity in school. Since I was a child I was a very social person. I was living in Mexico the city of Mexicali. I studied at The University of Baja California. My major was Business Administration. I finished school in the year of 2005.Then; I decided that I want to learn English, so I moved to live in The United States. When I was living in Mexico I was studying and working at the same time. I was the manager of a big fashion store in Mexicali. As the manager I always provided training to the new employees. Now, I am twenty seven years old and I am still enjoying being around people. Actually, I am living in California and I would like to look into my field that is business administration and also check out all the advantages and disadvantages about my profession in order to re- validate my career in The United States. I searched information about training, work environment, salary, and job outlook.
Training
To have a degree in Business Administration people need to go to college for a period of four years to receive a Bachelor’s Degree. After that, students can think about getting a Master’s Degree in Human Resources to have a better salary and more job opportunities. During the first two years students in college will take general education courses. Then for the next two years they will be taking business courses and transfer to a university. During those years professors will teach them how to manage a company, employees or their own business. Professors will be able to teach students everything regarding business administration. “Only 40 percent of California’s degree students are ready to transfer to universities after community college” (Krieger).This statistic is very sad, so students need to focus in school in order to finish university and reach their goal and degree. “When I finished my classes at College of the Desert, I did not feel confident at all about going to the university. My mother was all the time motivating me and telling me that I need to finish school no matter what. After a while I realize that I was true”(Rey). “Training and development managers and specialist conduct and supervise training and development programs for employees. Increasingly, management recognizes that training offers a way to developing skills, enhancing productivity and quality of work” (Human Resources, Training, and Labor Relations Managers and Specialists”).People have to work really hard and be willing to learn and move on. Employers and employees need to give “the extra” all the time. In addition, a degree is always important for some jobs, even though I do not have one. I strongly recommend studying and finishing school in order to have a degree and have better opportunities in life (Luna).
Work environment
When people study a career it is very important to make sure the work environment is good for them. People need to pay attention to the area because they might be working for years. “Work environment in human resources is excellent. I have a very clean place; relaxed office and I have everything I need” (Luna). “Human Resources work usually takes place in clean, pleasant, and comfortable office settings (Human Resources, Training, and Labor Relations Managers and Specialists”). “Many companies sacrifice training budgets to improve the bottom line. The cost of unmotivated employees, however can be greater that training” (The Value of Management Training).I believe that training is one of the most elemental issue for a company to be successful. If we train our personal correctly and they feel happy in our company they will be productive. In a work environment is essential that the employees feel comfortable in order to be more prolific and have a positive attitude in our job area.


Earnings
Another significant aspect about a career is how much money you are going to make. I believe this is one of the most important points. One of the problems that students have is the rising fees in education. So, students need to pay attention on how much many they are going to make in order to be able to pay their loans easily. “Higher tuitions make university study prohibitive for many community college students, specially the low- income and minorities” (Krieger). “My salary is actually excellent. I started at Wells Fargo bank as a cashier, and then I was promoted to be the assistant manager. Now, finished university and I am in charge of one bank in the city of Rancho Mirage. As the manager and my earnings change totally” (Rey). “Median annual earnings of compensation and benefits managers were 74,750 in May 2006.the middle 50 percent earned between 55,370 and 99,690. The lowest percent earned less than 42,750, and the highest 10 percent earned more than 132,820” (Human Resources, Training, and Labor Relations Managers and Specialists”). “When people manage their own business and take care of it they will have a good profit” (Luna). I can not give an amount of money that I earn annually, because it changes every time, but as the manager and owner of this company I do make a lot of money”(Luna).
Job Outlook
An important aspect that the students need to consider before selecting a career is to make sure if the career is going to have job opportunities in the future. It is very important to analyze how many job opportunities students that become professional are going to have in the future. “Overall employment is projected to grow by 17 percent faster than the average for all occupations, graduates with a bachelor’s degree in human resources, human resources administration should be on demand”( Human Resources, Training, and Labor Relations Managers and Specialists”). ”When people have a degree a lot of opportunities come to them”(Rey).
Conclusion
In my opinion, I believe this is the career that I want to study. The career in business administration has a lot of aspects that I am looking for. For instance, the training is what I really like to do. I like to give ideas to improve situation. I like to train people in order to have better results in my personal life as well as in my job. Regarding work environment, I only read positive things about it. Earnings seem to be high in this job area. Also, if I finish university my salary is going to change in a positive way, even though at the end I will need to pay for all my loans I think is worth it. In addition, the job outlook of human resources, managers and training is expected to grow faster than the average. As a result students who have earned certification should have the best job opportunities in the future. In conclusion I strongly believe on the importance of education for every single person. People need to think about the cost of life that is going up and up. In addition, the economy in our country is not positive at all. We need to be prepared for hard times that are coming. Also we need to study and finish our degree in order to give our children a better view of the life and better opportunities to finish their education. This country needs people ready because a country is the people who live in it. “If you have a dream, you have the ability to make it real” (Rey).
